New workloads such as Machine Learning, Big Data, and High Performance Computing are emerging in the Enterprise, bringing a new set of requirements that must be met to achieve good performance in virtualized environments. In this talk, we will discuss the genesis of these trends and what work is underway to meet these challenges.
Josh Simons is Chief Technologist for High Performance Computing, working in the VMware Office of the CTO where he currently leads an effort to bring the value of virtualization to HPC. Previously, he was a Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems working on HPC and prior to Sun he worked at Thinking Machines Corporation. He has a degree in Engineering from Harvard College and a Masters in Computer Science from Harvard University. He is currently serving on the OpenMP Board of Directors.
